  After over a dozen weeks as an intern for USA Today, my portfolio includes a range of articles, covering everything from the Humane Society adoption programs to college financial aid for prisoners.   When I first started my career as a student at American University in the fall of 2013, I knew I wanted to be a journalist. However, I didn’t fully understand the reality of that title until I started my internship with USA Today College this summer.
